One of a gaggle of midsize three-row SUVs, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade is easy to overlook. But that’s a mistake.

Within its segment, the Hyundai Palisade is a terrific family hauler, checking nearly all of the right boxes. Plus, it has a distinctive design, upscale materials, and thoughtful amenities after a refresh for the 2023 model year.

Verdict: Stylish and safe, powerful and enjoyable to drive, and roomy for people and cargo, the 2024 Hyundai Palisade is a winner. Choosing a Hyundai Palisade is both a logical and an emotional decision.

8/10

Distinctive styling sets the Palisade apart from its rivals, making it impossible to lose in a sea of lookalike, family-friendly SUVs. It might not appeal to everyone, but if you like the Palisade’s looks, chances are you’ll like most other things about it.

For 2024, Hyundai Canada offers the 2024 Palisade in two trims: Urban and Ultimate Calligraphy. The former costs $57,431 and the latter $61,031, including the $2,000 destination charge and other fees. Our test vehicle came in the U.S. equivalent of Ultimate Calligraphy trim. (The test unit is in U.S.-only Night Edition trim. You can get close to it in Canada by selecting individual blacked-out accessories, but it’s not available as a package.)

The Palisade Ultimate Calligraphy has an artificial suede headliner that seems decadent on a mass-market midsize family SUV. That, plus the quality upholstery, metal speaker grilles, striped dashboard and door trim, and overall sophistication of the interior makes a loaded Hyundai Palisade look and feel like a luxury SUV.

Impressive features, heated/ventilated seats. Heads up display with blind spot cameras when using turn signals. Backup camera is great with a drone view that I am still trying to figure out how it operates but it is very accurate. This was a Limited package I can't think of much more that you could want. Loaded with features you don’t even get on more expensive luxury SUV’s Plus the safety features, all included. The warranty is best in the business. I bought the Calligraphy night edition in Black. I wanted a SUV that was comfortable to drive on our weekend trips to visit kids in Wisconsin and St Louis. And has the room to drive them all around when we get there. Plenty of room for the grandkids. This checked all the boxes! Love it. We test drove the Kia Telluride and the Palisade is the more comfy ride. Telluride is more rugged. Don’t think you can go wrong with either. Feb 08, 2025
