With minivans mostly out of the picture, three-row SUVs like the 2025 Hyundai Palisade are family favourites.

The Palisade is Hyundai’s largest SUV, debuting in 2020 as a replacement for the Hyundai Santa Fe XL. Since then, the automaker has steadily improved the SUV’s styling, technology, and packaging, and that’s also true of the 2025 Palisade. A redesigned 2026 Palisade is on the way and will undoubtedly improve on this outgoing version.

Verdict: Though the 2025 Palisade marks the last year for the current-generation model, you should still consider one, especially if the deal is too good to pass up. This Hyundai has aged remarkably well and remains more appealing than many of its rivals in the midsize three-row SUV arena.

9/10

While many car companies resort to outlandish body cladding and other rugged off-roader styling cues to give their otherwise bland SUVs character, the 2025 Hyundai Palisade leverages bold, unmistakable design as a differentiator.

Granted, the Palisade’s detailing sparks love-it-or-hate-it reactions. But we dig it, especially since the 2023 refresh that eliminated the SUV’s chubby-cheeked face in favour of a more angular and technical look. The rest of the SUV displays balanced forms, tasteful body sculpting, and an upscale look that makes it seem like a bargain at sticker price.

That design value story continues inside, where even the base Palisade Preferred trim level offers a clean, modern, and uplevel look and feel. The most expensive versions of the Palisade have premium leather, metal speaker grilles, and other luxury cues that make it a mainstream SUV in name only. However, some metallic-surface control markings are hard to read during the day. Beyond that, the Palisade is loaded with thoughtful details. Highlights include USB charging ports embedded into the front seatbacks for rear passengers, second-row smartphone storage pockets, and drink holders easily accessible by children of all ages.

In Canada, Hyundai sells the 2025 Palisade in four trim levels: Preferred, Urban, Ultimate Calligraphy, and Ultimate Calligraphy Night Edition. Prices range from $53,284 to $63,584, including the $2,050 destination charge and other fees. Our test vehicle came in the U.S. equivalent of Canada’s Ultimate Calligraphy trim with Robust Emerald paint, bringing the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) to $62,460, including destination.
