What’s New for the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is all-new, an enticing addition to the Ioniq 6 electric sedan lineup. The latest Hyundai N model uses the same formula as the Ioniq 5 N crossover, which means significant performance and styling upgrades. The Ioniq 6 N is certain to get attention thanks to its wide fenders framing big 20-inch wheels, contrasting trim, and unique rear spoiler.
Design
The regular Ioniq 6 doesn’t stand out from your average electric vehicle as much as you might expect, but the Ioniq 6 N will have no problem getting noticed. In addition to race car-inspired styling, many of the Ioniq 6 N’s upgrades improve performance. The car’s shape is designed for optimal aerodynamics — a key detail to maximize the efficiency of an electric vehicle — though that’s even more important for a car that’s intended to be track ready. The wider fenders and rear spoiler aren’t just for looks as they improve stability at high speeds. Finally, Hyundai will offer the Ioniq 6 N in a new pearl version of the N lineup’s signature Performance Blue.
Powertrain
The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 N will share the Ioniq 5 N’s powertrain, which comprises a pair of motors and an 84-kWh battery pack. It’s good for 601 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque in the 5 N. With the N Grin Boost feature engaged, hp temporarily increases to 641. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) and will also debut a new shifter that mimics a manual shifter. The current Ioniq 5 N is rated for 356 kilometres of range, though that may vary for this new car based on factors such as the 6 N’s weight, wheel sizes, and tires.

Interior
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has spacious seating for five passengers but comes up a little short on cargo space. If the new Ioniq 6 N has the same cargo dimensions as the conventional Ioniq 6, there will be 316 litres of space in the trunk and a small frunk with about 14.5 litres of additional storage. The Ioniq 6 N will feature an exclusive interior colour palette to complement its sporty nature, primarily in black with accents in Hyundai’s eye-catching Performance Blue colour.
Technology
Hyundai hasn’t yet clarified the standard tech and infotainment features that will be included with the all-new Ioniq 6 N. However, the company has pointed to some innovative systems that will take advantage of this performance-oriented EV’s cutting-edge technology while enhancing the driving experience. The N Active Sound+ system is a new kind of driving mode that delivers a sound experience tailored to the driver’s mood or driving approach. The N Ambient Shift Light uses the cabin’s ambient lighting to signal optimal shift points to the driver and passengers, while the N Track Manager and N Drift Optimizer offer customized performance settings and performance data recording.
Safety
Hyundai hasn’t yet announced specific equipment for the 2026 Ioniq 6 N, but it’ll likely follow the standard features menu for the 2025 model. That means we expect to see safety features such as a rearview camera, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, and front and rear parking sensors. As of this writing, the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6 N hadn't been crash-tested by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Pricing and Release Date
Hyundai revealed the 2026 Ioniq 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2025, and a handful of media first drives have taken place in Korea. However, details remain light. There are some clues here, namely that as of this writing the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N starts in Canada at $81,190 including fees. Looking at the 2025 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6’s base MSRPs, the 5 costs about $5,000 more than the 6, so it’s safe to budget along a similar structure.
